Wyoming Union contest winners will be recognized during the University of Wyoming Women in Science Conference May 14 lunch.

The five winners, selected from across Wyoming, University of Wisconsin, and western Wyoming Community College, branch NCWIT awards. Winners were selected on the basis of computing-related achievements and interests, solid leadership ability, good academic history and post-secondary education programs.

"This award is very important to me, because it represents the beginning of a journey, Eggleston said:" Who is the family education by her parents in Laramie, a freshman. "I'm not super-computing and programming experience, but my dreams and aspirations. I am very interested in the calculation of a career, I would like to explore the art of programming and mathematics."

NCWIT is a nonprofit community of more than 300 well-known companies, academic institutions, government agencies and non-profit organizations working to improve women's participation in technology and computing.

The Wyoming Union winners of the competition, their high school and the home market, including:

Women in Science Conference is aimed at improving young women (grades 7-12) in the scientific interest and excitement, usually dominated by men, technology, mathematics and engineering (STEM) - occupational areas. Accomplished professional women to discuss their experience in these areas.

The meeting was chaired by the Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium, sponsored education and research in Wyoming, to support the goals of NASA. One of the goals of NASA and the UW, more women and minorities to participate in the education program.
